About ACEOs:
An Art Card is a miniature masterpiece that measures 2.5 x 3.5 inches, the same size as collectible sports and playing cards. Art Cards date back to the 16th century, when marriages were often prearranged. Since cameras weren't yet invented, these were the very first "wallet photos"! An artist would be hired to paint one's betrothed in the next village, and upon viewing the tiny portrait, the fiancé would either be disappointed or ecstatic! And, would you believe that art cards were the predecessor to sports trading cards?

These miniatures regained popularity in 1997 as ATC’s (art trading cards), but these were only for trade between fellow artists. ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions and Originals ) came into vogue in 2004, available to art lovers worldwide, with the originals being the most valuable. At any given time, you will find thousands of ACEOs available on Ebay from artists all around the world! Collected by theme, artist, or by medium, ACEOs have become a highly contagious pastime to collect, trade, and give gifts of these remarkably tiny treasures!
