JodiStyle: Her Story
|
Beginning at age 15, Jodi started out as a graffiti artist spray painting
murals throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Her entrepreneurial spirit
urged her to begin her own art business airbrushing clothing in her late
teens.
Jodi Lewis (formerly known as "Shen"), has thrived and received
international accolades airbrushing portraits for over 20 years. In 1995,
she was rated one of the top ten airbrush artists in the U.S. by Cliff
Steiglitz, editor of Airbrush Action Magazine. Her clients have included
such famous faces as Jack Nicholson and Liza Minelli. Gradually, Lewis put
down the airbrush and switched her affections to the traditional paintbrush.
The "Classic Jazz" series emerged in 1998, as a tribute to Jodi's father.
The work was exhibited from Los Angeles to New York. Admired and collected
by many jazz enthusiasts, among them was Clint Eastwood at the Monterey Jazz
Festival. The entire series of 20 paintings sold for an average of $4,500
each.
Honored to have apprenticed with world renowned muralist, John Pugh, Jodi
also studied under the world famous illustrators; Fred Otnes, Mark English,
Bart Forbes, John English, C.F. Payne, Gary Kelley, Greg Spalenka, and Anita
Kuntz. The most important thing she learned was to start doodling again, as
she did as a child!
JodiStyle is the voice that Lewis has longed to find her entire life. It
was fully realized in 2003 when she married her best friend, Matthew. He
now manages her talent and employs his graphic and marketing skills to share
their visions with the world.
Jodi's life mission is to impact lives through her art, one person at a
time. "It is my greatest desire that my paintings would inspire people to
live more meaningful and abundant lives." exclaimed Jodi Lewis, "Nothing is
impossible when you believe!" This is evident in her popular "Free
Spirited" image, which is a joyful woman dancing... set completely free
from fear, guilt, and shame.
"May you dance daily and dream deeply!" ~ Jodi ~
